Jessie Maxwell is a dual MBA/MPP candidate at UNC’s Kenan-Flagler School of Business and Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy. She was born and raised in Atlanta, GA, but has been a proud North Carolina resident for the last five years. Jessie graduated from Dartmouth College in 2009 and jumped into the world of education as a Teach for America corps member in Eastern North Carolina. She then continued her teaching career in Durham Public Schools. On the side, Jessie worked as a Teacher Advisor for TIME for Kids magazine. Jessie is interested in economic development as a means to strengthen depleted communities and minimize the number of children growing up in impoverished environments.
