Sam is an MBA candidate at UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School. Prior to Business School, Sam worked in micro-finance and Economic Development in Boston, helping small businesses start and grow through small business loans and technical assistance. As an Analyst at Initiative for a Competitive Inner City, a leading research & strategy firm on economic development, Sam was part of launching the Cultivate Small Business, a professional business development program for entrepreneurs in Boston. Sam is passionate about driving impact through creating financial wellness and opportunities and through envisioning effective systems for economic equity. Born in Yemen, Sam spent most of his childhood years in Syria. Sam enjoys running, reading, and climbing.
