Tyrik Cooper

Tyrik was born and raised in Savannah, GA. He completed his undergraduate studies at Shorter University, located in Rome, Ga majoring in biology and minoring in chemistry. During his years at Shorter, he was a pitcher for the University’s baseball team.


Tyrik is currently a second year PhD student at North Carolina State University. His study of interest is Forestry and Environmental Resources. Prior to entering the PhD program,  Tyrik completed his Masters in Forestry at North Carolina State University. Once Tyrik graduates with his doctorates, he looks forward to entering the field of academia to become an instructor at a 4-year institution.  Currently, his research involves growing industrial hemp in elevated temperatures and CO2 to mimic future climate conditions and observing the impact it will have on the hemp industry. As far as hobbies, he love sports, exercising, motorcycles, skateboarding, snakes, and hikes.
